We know that fingerprint and handwriting images are deeply personal. This policy explains exactly what we collect, why, how long we keep it, and how to have it deleted.
What we collect
To fulfill your order, we may collect:
- Order details — name, shipping address, email, ring size, engraving text
- Payment information — processed securely by our payment providers; we never see or store your full card number
- Custom images — fingerprint scans, handwriting, signatures, or artwork you submit for engraving
- Standard browsing data — cookies and usage data, as described below
Custom images: fingerprints, handwriting & signatures
How to send images: The most private way to send your fingerprint or handwriting is the file-upload option on the product page. If you prefer, you may also email your image to services@uhbstamped.com — some of our customers do. Either way, your image is used only for your engraving and deleted within 30 days of delivery or immediately on request.
What we do with them:
- Your image is converted into a line-engraving design file and used only to produce your ring. We treat it as artwork — we do not perform biometric identification, identity verification, or any comparison of fingerprints.
- A flat fingerprint image becomes a decorative line engraving, similar to a signature or heartbeat line. It cannot be used to unlock devices or identify you.
- We never sell, share, or use your images for marketing.
How long we keep them:
- Original image files (fingerprint scans, handwriting photos) are deleted within 30 days after your order is delivered — or immediately upon your request, whichever comes first.
- To support reorders and warranty claims, we may keep the converted engraving design file only (a generic vector file, no longer identifiable as a fingerprint), stored under your order number.
- Images required by tax or accounting law may be retained in order records, but the image files themselves are removed.
Your rights: Email services@uhbstamped.com at any time to request deletion, a copy of your data, or correction. We honor requests regardless of where you live, and we confirm deletion in writing.
Not comfortable sharing a fingerprint? We can engrave a signature, heartbeat line, paw print, or soundwave of a voice message instead — same meaning, same price. Just ask.
Memorial rings: If your ring honors a loved one, please know we handle every image with care and complete discretion.
How we use your information
- To make, ship, and support your order

- To improve our website and service
- To send order updates (we do not send marketing emails unless you opt in)
Cookies & tracking
We use essential cookies to operate the site (session, preference, and security cookies). You can refuse cookies through your browser, though some features may not work without them. We do not use intrusive third-party ad trackers.
Security
Images are transmitted over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection and stored on access-controlled hosting with access limited to production and support staff. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we limit collection, access, and retention to what production requires.
Changes
We may update this policy; the version posted at the time of your order applies. Significant changes will be noted on this page.
