Frequency Asked Question.

What is Tungsten Carbide.

Tungsten carbide is one of the hardest materials known, with a Mohs hardness scale rating of around 8.5-9. This makes it harder than most other metals and alloys, including steel and titanium. It has excellent tensile strength, which means it can withstand high levels of stress without deforming or breaking. This makes tungsten carbide ideal for applications where durability and strength are essential.
Due to its exceptional properties, tungsten carbide is also commonly used in jewelry, particularly in the creation of rings and other accessories. Tungsten carbide rings are prized for their durability, scratch resistance, and contemporary aesthetic, making them a popular choice for individuals seeking stylish and long-lasting jewelry options.

Does Tungsten Jewelry Change Color.

Tungsten rings typically do not change color over time. Tungsten is a highly durable and inert metal, meaning it is resistant to tarnishing, rusting, and other forms of corrosion. As a result, tungsten rings will maintain their original color and appearance for the long term, even with regular wear.
However, it’s essential to note that tungsten rings are often coated with a thin layer of another metal, such as black or gold plating, to create different finishes and styles. While the tungsten itself will not change color, the plating may wear off over time, especially with frequent exposure to water, chemicals, or abrasive materials. This can lead to a slight change in appearance, such as fading or wearing away of the plating layer.
To preserve the appearance of tungsten rings with plating, it’s advisable to avoid exposure to harsh chemicals, abrasive surfaces, and prolonged contact with water. Additionally, periodic cleaning and maintenance can help prolong the life of the plating and maintain the ring’s original color and finish. Overall, pure tungsten rings will not change color, but those with plated finishes may experience minor changes over time due to natural wear and tear.

Does Tungsten Rings Scratch Proved.

Tungsten rings are highly scratch-resistant, making them an excellent choice for individuals who desire a durable and long-lasting piece of jewelry. Tungsten carbide, the material used in most tungsten rings, is one of the hardest materials available for jewelry, ranking near the top of the Mohs scale of mineral hardness, typically around 8.5-9.
However, it’s important to note that although tungsten carbide is highly scratch-resistant, it can still be scratched by materials that are harder than it is, such as diamonds or certain types of abrasive substances. Additionally, tungsten rings with certain finishes or coatings, such as black or gold plating, may be more susceptible to scratches on the surface layer.
Overall, while tungsten rings are extremely durable and resistant to scratching under normal circumstances, they are not entirely immune to damage. With proper care and maintenance, however, tungsten rings can retain their original appearance and finish for many years, offering a long-lasting and stylish accessory option.

Does Tungsten Rings Will Break.

Tungsten rings are exceptionally durable and highly resistant to breaking under normal circumstances. Tungsten carbide, the material commonly used in tungsten rings, is renowned for its hardness and strength, making it one of the toughest materials available for jewelry.
However, while tungsten rings are highly resistant to scratching, bending, and breaking compared to traditional metals like gold or silver, they are not entirely immune to damage. In rare cases, tungsten rings may crack or shatter if subjected to extreme force or impact, such as being dropped from a significant height onto a hard surface.
It’s essential to note that tungsten rings are more likely to break under extreme circumstances compared to traditional metal rings. However, under typical wear and tear conditions, tungsten rings are incredibly durable and resistant to damage.
To minimize the risk of damage to your tungsten ring, it’s advisable to avoid situations where it may be subjected to extreme force or impact, such as heavy machinery or activities involving significant physical impact. Additionally, removing your tungsten ring before engaging in activities where it may be at risk of damage can help preserve its integrity and longevity.

How To Get The Ring Size.

  1. Measuring your ring size accurately is essential to ensure a comfortable fit for your ring. Here are several methods you can use to measure your ring size:
  2. Use a Ring Sizer: Visit a local jewelry store and ask if they have a ring sizer tool. A jeweler can help you determine your ring size by placing different-sized rings on your finger until you find the most comfortable fit.
  3. Printable Ring Sizer: Many jewelry websites offer printable ring sizer guides that you can print at home. Follow the instructions carefully to measure your finger’s circumference and match it to the corresponding ring size on the guide.
  4. Measure an Existing Ring: If you already have a ring that fits well on the finger you intend to wear the new ring, you can measure its inside diameter using a ruler. Match the measurement to a ring size chart to determine your size.
  5. String or Paper Method: Take a piece of string or a thin strip of paper and wrap it around the base of the finger you want to wear the ring on. Mark where the string or paper overlaps and measure the length with a ruler. Match the measurement to a ring size chart to find your size.
  6. Online Ring Sizing Tools: Many online jewelry retailers offer virtual ring sizing tools that allow you to measure your ring size using your smartphone or by comparing against a reference object, such as a credit card.
  7. Remember to measure your ring size multiple times to ensure accuracy, and consider factors such as fluctuations in finger size due to temperature and time of day. It’s also essential to measure the specific finger you plan to wear the ring on, as ring sizes can vary between fingers. If you’re unsure, it’s best to consult with a professional jeweler for assistance in determining your ring size.
